"LP-style" cardboard packaging based on the original Europe-only vinyl release (including two lyric inner sleeves despite this being a single CD); also featuring an integrated vertical picture obi. Red disc with orange "Sony Music" logo. Not to be confused with the abovementioned, promotional 1999 version.

[ GENERAL NOTE: In addition to "Greetings�", 1999 Japanese reissues of Bruce's albums up to and including "Nebraska" came with similar "LP-style" packaging that painstakingly recreated the original cover artworks. When the limited press run for these special editions was gone in a wink, Sony Japan followed them with a series of picture disc issues in standard jewel cases that carried the same catalogue numbers and also featured the obligatory obi strips; again ending with "Nebraska". Apparently, it was planned to put out the remainder of Springsteen's album catalogue ("Born In The U.S.A." through "The Ghost Of Tom Joad"; minus "Greatest Hits") with cardboard sleeves as well, but most likely due to a veto from Columbia in the US, that proposed second batch never materialized; even though all of said later albums are known to exist in this form as "promotional issues". ]
